At Choices Homecare, we know that loneliness doesn’t begin or end with a single awareness campaign. It’s not just a theme, it’s a daily reality for far too many people.
That’s why this Loneliness Awareness Week, we’re proud to join the national conversation and continue the one we have every day, focusing on how we can reduce isolation for both the people we care for and the carers who make that possible.
🧓 For the people we care for
Many of our older service users live alone or see very few people outside of care visits. Their carers are often their main human connection. They are the ones who brighten their day, offer a kind word, or take the time to truly listen.
Through person-centred care and consistent companionship, we aim to ensure that no one feels forgotten – this week or any other.
🧍♀️ For the carers delivering the care
We also recognise that carers can feel isolated too, emotionally and physically. Long hours, lone working, and putting others first can leave little room for their own wellbeing.
That’s why Choices Homecare invests in more than just training and support. From our Buddy System and structured 180-Day Onboarding to peer connection and recognition, we make sure every carer feels seen, heard, and appreciated.
🤝 Loneliness is everyone’s business
The truth is, loneliness affects us all, and it can’t be solved in a week. But Loneliness Awareness Week gives us the opportunity to pause, reflect, and do more. It reminds us that even the smallest interaction can make a big difference.
We’ll be using this week to continue building those connections, and we encourage others to do the same.
💬 Let’s #MeetLonelinessTogether
Whether it’s the care we give, the teams we support, or the people in our community, we’re committed to making sure no one feels alone.
Because a service to be proud of is one where everyone feels connected.
